Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu at Il Giallo is a delightful mix of classic Italian staples and innovative dishes that make it feel fresh yet familiar. You can’t go wrong with any of the pasta options-each one is made in-house, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The pappardelle alla bolognese is a standout, with perfectly cooked wide ribbons of pasta covered in a rich, flavorful meat sauce. The balance of textures and flavors is absolutely spot-on. If you’re looking for something a bit lighter, the seafood risotto is an excellent choice, featuring perfectly cooked shrimp, scallops, and mussels in a creamy, subtly briny base that will have you savoring every spoonful.

But it’s not just the pastas that shine here. The restaurant's appetizer options are also fantastic, with the bruschetta offering a fresh, vibrant start to the meal. The combination of ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, and a drizzle of olive oil on perfectly toasted bread is as simple as it is delicious. For those looking for a heartier start, the arancini-crispy risotto balls stuffed with cheese and served with a tangy marinara sauce-are a must-try.

What People's Say About Place

Truly an incredible meal. One more 5 star review for this restaurant seems like a drop in the bucket but it’s a testament that so many people feel compelled to write this place up. The ambiance is upscale but also warm and inviting. It’s a large space with clear separation between the bar side and sit down side. The bar side looked comfortable with cozy, tapas style tables. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable on both the menu and specials. Very attentive and couldn’t have asked for better. The food was exquisite. Fresh, flavorful, and so intentionally made that it makes you appreciate what you’re eating. The Garlic Focaccia Bread was so soft and fresh. The Spaghetti and Meatballs were fantastic with just the right amount of fresh sauce tossed with the pasta. The Agnolotti was rich and was gone very soon after hitting the table. The Green Peppercorn Special was something you wish they would put on the menu full time. I cannot wait to come back here. If you haven’t tried il Giallo yet, do yourself a favor and make a reservation immediately.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was our first time. We got lucky with no reservation we got a spot at the bar and spent the evening with Aldy and Sharon. Amazing women! They know what they are doing. The food? FANTASTIC. Tiramisu dessert? The best I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back!!!

Decided to try El Giallo Osteria, and Bar for the first time. The dining atmosphere is elegant and the dining space itself is set out appropriately with enough space between the tables to seem cozy but yet not crowded. We were excited to try a few of the menu options and chose two of their specials for the night. We chose the focaccia bread with garlic to start and it was divine. For entrees we chose the risotto special along with the ravioli special. We really enjoyed the ravioli special tremendously, the risotto was the best! My only complaint was the service was quite slow. Our server disappeared for a long amounts of time when we were in need of things. We had to check on our food a couple of times. Our order of spinach was forgotten, but they finally delivered it to our table and took it off the check for us. I’ll definitely come back and give it another try, hopefully the service will be better next time because the food was truly delicious.

Visited December 6, 2025 Our reservation was for 6:45p. We arrived at 6:30p and was sat almost immediately. The hostess was very friendly. Not sure of her name, but she had I believe red/auburn colored hair. Atmosphere- It looked like your typical Italian restaurant. A little more "upscale" feel. I was worried from pictures I seen that we might be sitting on top of others, but it was the appropriate amount of space. Service- Our server was Tracy. She was very nice and very attentive. She helped me make a decision for my dish and it was perfect. Food Starters- We started out with the Foccasia and Calamari. Both were VERY good. We had the garlic Foccasia. I would say I expected it to be a little bigger than what we received. One, based off the pictures and other plates we seen. Secondly, we have cruised on Virgin Voyages and their Foccasia is probably THE BEST I have ever had, so that is the level I want every time I order some. Again, it was very good. Just seemed small/thin. The calamari was SO GOOD! veggies could have been a little crispier for me. Me and my husband split a ceasar salad. It was good. Entree- My Husband ordered the Frutti di Mare, he said it was very good. Our daughter had Spaghetti. It seems simple, but she said it was delicious. Our son had Chicken Alfredo with Fettuccine. I do think this was a little pricey for such a simple dish, but he enjoyed it. I had the Lasagna Matta. It was very good. Flavorful and filling. Drink- I ordered the Brutus' Betrayal. I always drink out of straws. Always. Even at home. When I took a sip, it was like a spoonful of salt went down my throat. Caught me completely off guard. I tried to stir the drink, took another sip, more salt. I guess it just sat at the bottom of the glass, but even without a straw, I still would've consumed all of that just drinking out the glass. It was a lot. I kind of just used the straw to drink from the top. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday, so I let the server know. They brought her a dessert with the plate decorated beautifully. When we got the bill, I seen a charge for the dessert. I thought that was odd being how she didn't get to choose the dessert. It was just brought to us. Also, I have NEVER had to buy a birthday dessert before. It was only $3, but if we are paying, she should've been given the opportunity to choose what she wanted. One major thing I want to point out is who I believe was the Chef or maybe the manager(?). He was at the window handing the food to the runners. I watched him wipe his nose with his hand! He did not wash his hands after. He just wiped it on his chef's jacket. It was very disgusting and in my opinion, should not be tolerated. He was not there at the time our food was brought out thank goodness! But that is honestly gross. And it was not a quick dab of the nose. It was like he used his hand as an alternative to tissue. All in all, we would probably return, but I think a few things, ESPECIALLY with the chef/Manager should be addressed and corrected. UPDATE: They asked me to send an email so they could make things right. I sent an email almost 3 weeks ago and never heard from them, nor did they send anything. I think it's important to update anyone who is reading reviews so they understand that businesses may just be saying this to appear as though they want to do right by a Patron when in reality that is not the case.

First time here and it was for Valentine’s Day, the service was a bit slow but overall, I really enjoyed it and the food quality was very good. Server Ari was also super nice and knowledgeable.

Went for dinner on Friday night. Was told all the tables were full but could check the bar, luckily there were two seat seats at the end. We had the blessing of meeting Sharon, their bartender and had the best experience in Atlanta yet. Everything she recommended was spectacular. Drinks and food were incredible. She had the entire bar entranced. If you want to have an incredible experience come to the bar and ask for Sharon!!

This is a hidden gem that I’ve driven by many times. A friend recommended it and I’m glad she did! Everything we had was divine. Best homemade pasta I’ve had. Our service was great and appropriately attentive. The atmosphere is “old school” in feel, but inviting. Cocktails were great too!

We enjoyed this restaurant so much! The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the focaccia bread, and it was so good we ordered a second one! We ended up bringing it home, and it reheated perfectly. I had the Crazy Lasagna and absolutely loved it. My husband ordered the spaghetti and raved about it as well. We will definitely be returning!
